This is a visual representation of the correlation between socioeconomics and the racial demographics of MCPS high schools. I explore how the high school clusters separate students physically, socially, and mentally. At the bottom of the work, I stenciled a bar graph comparing the percentage of students on FARMS (Free And Reduced Meals) at each high school versus the percentage of white students at the school. Installed, it folds on to the ceiling, reminiscent of climbing ivy metaphorically representing the invasive nature of stereotypes.
