Reclaimed wood, Telephone wire, Plumbing gasket, FORMULAR Insullation board, Gesso

However unattractive, utility poles are an integral aspect of the contemporary landscape. This aesthetic blight provides utilities such as telecommunications, electricity and internet access to communities.

Unaccustomed Perspectives is a truncated telephone pole. The wires bisect the space and make it impossible to cross the room without stepping over them. The viewer is forced to interact with the piece. It is obnoxious, annoying, and obtrusive. Unaccustomed Perspectives highlights how the industrialized public generally ignores essential infrastructures regardless of their services or how blatantly they intrude on the physical terrain.
