Bio

Rachel is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and researcher. She received a BA from the Stamps School of Art and Design (English minor) from the University of Michigan (UM) in 2020 where she was a Shipman Scholar. In summer 2020 Rachel was a virtual graduate fellow with the Michigan Space Grant Consortium (MSGC) where she researched and proposed art-science programming for MSGC. This assignment followed a winter semester 2020 Residency with Arts Engine, a UM initiative to encourage cooperation between the arts, engineering, and sciences. She has also worked as a research assistant to Professor Irina Aristarkhova on her book project Arrested Welcome: Hospitality in Contemporary Art. They traveled to Moscow, Russia in 2019 to study the architecture firm BuroMoscow for a forthcoming article as part of the grant: Contested Innovation in the Global Silicon Valley. Rachel currently lives and works in the DC metro area.
